Gibson "Riff Lords" Intro
I had the pleasure of working with Gibson TV and collaborating with my good friend, Chris Velez to write and record the intro and outro to their Riff Lords Series. Chris does the riffage and I provided the drums, recording and mixing at Veracuda Studios. Check it out!

Filth Is Eternal "Find Out" Out Now!
Filth Is Eternal's ‘Find Out’ is the triumphant reawakening of one of Seattle’s most vigorous and involved bands. The new testament whips forth with the force of a breakthrough and is a clear undertaking of their own genesis with a deep awareness of themselves, their crowd, and the shared history between them. The band’s ground rules: immediacy must be prioritized. The songs should have the power to whip up a pit in under thirty seconds. They must be vital and exciting.

Filth Is Eternal "Find Out" Album of the day (Bandcamp)
On their third album, Seattle punk band Filth Is Eternal rips through 14 songs in a lean 29 minutes, leaving only scorched earth in their wake. They’re adept as ever at sledgehammering their way through rapid-fire hardcore workouts, but on Find Out, they’re doing it with more nuance and melody than ever before. Every song, no matter how short, finds room for an insistent hook, often in the form of a vocal line from front person Lis Di Angelo. They shriek, growl, chant, croon, and exhort, while guitarist Brian McClelland and the fiendishly locked-in rhythm section of Rah Davis and Emily Salisbury churn below.

Violencia's "Mundo Polarizado" Video
Hailing from Tijuana, Violencia is one of those cases where the band name fits the music like a glove. Featuring ex-members of such Mexican groups as DFMK, Calafia Puta, and Bio Crisis, the power violence-minded quartet have a penchant for gnarly riffs, storms of blast beats, and mosh sections that never outstay their welcome. Nope, Violencia have no time for any bullshit.

Death Breath - The Old Hag
Well, the wait is finally over! 15 years since 'Let It Stink,' DEATH BREATH is back with two infernal slabs of death metal the only way Robert Pehrsson, Nicke Andersson and Scott Carlson know how to bring it: filthy, bloody and absolutely raw. There are no surprises here! Just DEATH BREATH as we love 'em. Does this mean the second full-length album is coming soon? Only "The Old Hag" knows! Scott's vokills recorded by Phil Vera at Veracuda Studios.

Track Premiere: Mayan Bull (ft. members of Trappist & Despise You) “Kid Cleveland”
It’s not often that a band forms after being offered an opportunity to write music for a film, but that’s exactly what happened with L.A.’s Mayan Bull. Back in 2011, drummer/keyboardist Phil Vera (Trappist, Despise You), guitarist Kurk Stevens and bassist Chris Walters were approached by director Todd Hickey to write a song for the soundtrack of Takedowns and Falls, his documentary about high-school wrestling in Pennsylvania.

Decibel Magazine: Trappist Album feature
Cross Faded is a ripping tribute to getting fucked up. LA’s premier craft beer-themed powerviolence band Trappist (featuring members of Spazz, Despise You and Infest) join forces with the self-proclaimed “full-blown marijuana addicts” in Connoisseur for a ripping split that delivers both speed and sludge.

"The Legend of Powerviolence Crew Despise you" Band Camp Feature by Philip Freeman
The song is 30 seconds long, a minute at most. The drums are a blast of kick and snare; the guitars and bass blend together in a rumbling, noisy blur; the vocals are a raw-throated cry of rage. Is it grindcore or is it powerviolence? The two subgenres have much in common, and yet, for those whose ears are attuned to minute differences in subgenre, the distinction is clear.

21 BEERS, 21 METAL SONGS: DAVE WITTE, RICHARD CHRISTY VS. TRAPPIST DRINKING CHALLENGE
Trappist — a.k.a. Spazz's Chris Dodge, Crom and Despise Your's Phil Vera, and Ryan Harkins, co-owner of the popular heavy metal–themed burger joint Grill Em' All — will release their debut album, Ancient Brewing Tactics, August 17th via Relapse Records.
